Hevy or Strenos for a percentage program?

Both log your sets on iPhone and Apple Watch. The difference is the program. Hevy keeps the weights you enter, while Strenos works out every set from your maxes and moves the numbers by the program's rule. If you run 5/3/1, nSuns, GZCLP, the Texas Method or Smolov Jr, that's the math you'd otherwise do yourself.

Everything about Hevy here comes from its website, help center and App Store page, checked on November 8, 2026.

Which one to pick

  1. 01

    Pick Hevy

If you don't follow a set program, need Android or a web version, or want to run whole workouts from your watch with the phone left at home.

  2. 02

    Pick Strenos

If you run 5/3/1, nSuns, GZCLP, the Texas Method or Smolov Jr and want every weight worked out for you, weighted pull-ups and dips included.

  3. 03

    Check the math first

The calculators on this site use the same math as the app. Put your maxes into the 5/3/1 or GZCLP calculator and see the numbers before you install anything.

Questions about Hevy and Strenos

Can I run 5/3/1 in Hevy?

You can log it. Going by its feature pages and help center, Hevy doesn't work out weights from a training max, so you calculate each week's weights and type them in. After a workout, Hevy can copy what you lifted into the routine, but it doesn't apply the 5/3/1 rule for the next cycle.

Does Hevy have GZCLP?

We didn't find GZCLP on Hevy's site or in its help center as of November 8, 2026. Hevy Trainer, part of Hevy Pro, builds its own programs and adds weight when you hit the top of a rep range. That's a different rule from GZCLP's stages.

Is Hevy's Apple Watch app better?

For a workout without your phone, yes: Hevy's watch app can run a whole session on its own. In Strenos you start the workout on iPhone and then run it from the watch: close sets, rate them, change rest and check your heart rate.

Is Strenos free?

The first week of every program is free in Strenos, and so are logging and the watch app. The full plan, your whole history and every chart come with Plus, monthly, yearly or as a one-time Lifetime purchase.

Is Strenos affiliated with Hevy?

No. Strenos is an independent app. Hevy is a trademark of its owner, and everything we say about it comes from its public pages.
